Heads up, theater junkies, the nationally acclaimed Book of Mormon is back. If you missed it last time, here is your chance. Enjoy the show Vogue magazine says is “the filthiest, most offensive, and—surprise—sweetest thing you’ll see on Broadway this year, and quite possibly the funniest musical ever.”
In it’s first year on Broadway, it amassed a whopping 9 Tony Awards (including Best Musical), won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album -an album which broke it’s own set of sales records and landed #3 on the Billboard charts-, set records in ticket sales at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, and managed, inexplicably, not to offend the greater LDS Church.
The story line follows two Mormon missionaries as they visit a primitive tribe in Africa to share the gospel (all of the mental images). A tribe that is not only uninterested, but also dealing with life’s little nuances… you know… lack of sanitation, food, clean water, medical aid, etc.
This is certainly not a show that should be missed! Remember to leave the kids and your political correctness at home and get ready for a night of roaring laughter.
